Porcelain Bird Figurine

A porcelain bird figurine is a popular collectors' item. Birds are often shown in settings ranging from bird houses to flower gardens and tend to be one of the most delicate figurine creations. These art objects are generally depicted in color that mimics natural colors. The setting is almost always light and airy so it looks like the porcelain bird is about to take flight. These bird pieces are usually small in size but are depicted in amazing detail.
Delicacy of porcelain bird figurines
By their very design, birds are delicate, so recreating their image in beautiful porcelain in such detail that you can trace individual feathers is a significant demonstration of the artist's talent. Many of the porcelain bird figurine pieces show common birds such as a meadowlark or bluebird, but they are posed with wildflowers that are amazingly delicate and detailed. You can almost see the petals quiver with the movement of the bird. You can see the frantic beating of the hummingbird's wings as it hovers above a deep throated flower. The skill of the artists is truly amazing.
Colors of nature
Another amazing feature of bird figurines is the natural coloring of both the birds and the flowers or plants that are used as a setting for the bird. Although often slightly smaller than life size, the apple blossoms with a bluebird figurine appear real enough to reach out and pick. You can almost smell the lovely fragrance of an apple orchard in spring. However, not all colors are pastels. There are collections that feature brilliant colors of exotic birds. These birds appear in brilliant jewel tones of red, orange, green and blue along with the tropical setting in which they live.
